Moscow has issued a stark warning, vowing to obliterate the recently delivered US Abrams tanks that have made their way into Ukraine. The Kremlin, however, sought to downplay the importance of these tanks on the battlefield.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, “The arrival of these tanks cannot in any way alter the course or outcome of the ongoing special military operation (SVO). There is no one-size-fits-all solution or weapon that can tip the balance of power on the battlefield. While the Abrams tanks are formidable, they too are susceptible to destruction.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his intent to employ the tanks to reinforce brigades, while Kyle Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, has indicated that they will play a role in “breakthrough operations.”
The precise number of Abrams tanks that have been delivered to Ukraine remains undisclosed, but the United States has committed to supplying a total of 31 tanks. It is believed that the recent shipment accounts for less than half of that designated quantity.
